Can I convert a bank passbook to Excel or Tally?

A passbook is the hardest case for a conventional converter: there is no PDF, no text layer, and no fixed template — just dot-matrix or inkjet lines printed into a booklet, often at a slight angle and sometimes overlapping the ruled columns. Tools that parse a PDF's embedded text have nothing to work with. StatementFlow reads the image itself, which is why a phone photo of a passbook page converts like any other statement.

Photograph each page as squarely and evenly lit as you can, then upload the photos. The extraction reads the date, particulars, withdrawal, deposit, and balance columns, and — importantly for a passbook — checks each running balance against the amounts. Passbook printing frequently smudges or clips a digit, and a balance that doesn't tie out is exactly how that gets caught rather than silently imported.

From there export wherever you need it: Tally XML for TallyPrime vouchers, or Excel and CSV for a spreadsheet. The same applies to branch-printed statements from public-sector banks like Central Bank of India, Bank of India, and Bandhan Bank, which are often handed over as printouts rather than downloads.

One honest limitation: image quality sets the ceiling. A sharp, flat photo converts cleanly; a dark, angled, or motion-blurred shot will produce flagged rows you'll need to check. Re-shooting a bad page takes seconds and is far quicker than correcting it afterwards.
