The best bank statement converters for Indian banks in 2026

Indian statements break converters in ways Western ones don't. The domestic format splits money across separate Withdrawal and Deposit columns while foreign banks operating in India use a single signed amount. The 2019–2020 amalgamations left migrated accounts still emitting a predecessor bank's layout years later — Canara statements in Syndicate formatting, PNB in Oriental Bank of Commerce formatting, and so on. And a very large share of statements never exist as digital PDFs at all.

That last point decides this category. Public-sector banks, urban co-operatives, and payments banks issue statements at branch counters and in passbooks. If a tool can't read an image, it can't serve those clients — which in Indian practice is most of them.

Can I convert a passbook to Tally?+

Yes, with a tool that reads images. Photograph the passbook pages and upload them — StatementFlow and NIKASH both accept image input, while TallyXML.online states it does not.

Do converters handle Canara statements in the old Syndicate format?+

Tools that read the page rather than matching a stored template do, because they aren't relying on a per-bank layout. The same applies to PNB accounts in Oriental Bank of Commerce formatting and Bank of Baroda accounts from Vijaya or Dena.

Which converter supports co-operative banks?+

Co-operative statements are usually passbooks or branch printouts, so the question is really whether the tool reads images. StatementFlow documents Saraswat, Cosmos, SVC, TJSB, and NKGSB, and handles others that aren't named.
